Lovechild a local solo artist from Hollywood and He does Rock N' Soul!

1. RCN: What type of band are you?

Original Rock N' Soul!!!

2. RCN: Tell us the brief history of your band.

I started playing out as Lovechild in 1992 when I left Paradise. I cut a debut cd in 1994, but the label went under just be4 the cd got released. I kept on writing original songs since that time and have been through several musicians through the years. The kind of music I've been doing only started to sell commercially in 1999/2000. Since that time I've been playing out more Live in L.A. and now have four songs featured in the film Naked Brown Men. U can download those songs @ www.nakedbrownmen.com And I'm currently recording new songs for a film in development called Cougars.

3. RCN: Who are your musical and non-musical influences?

My influences musically are ridiculously varried. I would have to describe Lovechild's music as P.O.D. meets Lenny Kravitz, with a dash of 311. I Love Zeppelin and Van Halen and Kiss as well as newer acts like Linkin Park and Audioslave. I need to have good vocals even if it's rap. I'm tired of the whining and screaming although I also love Korn.

4. RCN: What are your dreams and goals?

Well U know what they say, if U're gonna dream... Dream Big !! So my dream is for Lovechild to unseat Led Zeppelin as the Greatest Hard Rock band of all time! And to be the first world renowned Movie star and Rockstar simultaneously. With Commercial success and critical acclaim in both arenas as well. Only women have achieved this successfully so far. As Lovechild/Adam G I plan to be the first.

5. RCN: Who writes the songs, what are they about?

I write all the songs. They are about three things primarily, Love, Sex and a Unified world.

6. RCN: What's your opinion of George Bush?

George Bush is as close as we could possibly get to the Devil incarnate. He is destroying the planet, our minds and our integrity all at once as quickly as he can. It's as though he is not even a Human Being. This has a lot to do with the peace sign in the o of Lovechild and is why I feel we need a Lovechild more than ever in today's world. A little hippie Love 2 heal the planet Earth.

7. RCN: How do you promote your band and shows?

I flier like crazy, I play out, I make phone calls and emails, I go to other people's gigs and talk to people and if I had more money right now, I would advertise in your magazine Reuben.

8. RCN: Describe your show, visual and musically

Lovechild is a sexually charged and dynamic show. All the bombast of a Massive Arena Concert with the audience dancing and shaking their asses. Audiences singing along at the top of their lungs!! Good powerful memorable hooks you can sing along with the very first time you hear them. And a personal, emotional exciting and unpredictable delivery. Lovechild Live is the Shit!!!! Come on out to Club Vodka this thurs at 10 pm. June 3.

9. RCN: What do you think about downloading music online?

U can download some of my songs for free right now @ www.nakedbrownmen.com

10. RCN: What's your outlook on the record industry today?

The industry is a bunch of fat pigs lying at the trough. They complain of an industry drought after raping every single one of their artists for decades!! Surprise surprise. When U give an artist less than 5% of their sales, and profit takes the place of care and development, well thank god their loosing money. Maybe they'll let loose their stranglehold on mainstream radio and video channels and allow a hole for we new breed of artists to break in through and change this racist segregated system forever! Prince was right man, slaves is what we are when U sign the big deal. We as artists have to retain more creative control and power across the board!!!

11. RCN: What's your claim to fame?

Well, not only do I rock hard and rap smooth and dance like a motherfucker, but I sing with Soul. Like Rock singers used to sing back in the 70's. With blues based licks and Soul babay!!! Rockin' and Rolling. Also , because I've been a professional actor from before I started rock n'roll, I am a very well rounded performer. Emoting and handling an audience has definitely benefited from all of my acting experience. Movies and music man, that's my life.

12. RCN: Tell us a story about a day in your life.

A day in my life is coaching some actors on auditions for my day job, with the occasional audition for myself. Sometimes I am acting on a T.V. show or a Film as well. Then there is the hustling of a Lovechild gig via phones, emails and in person. Then there's the hustling of screenings for the film Naked Brown Men, which I co-directed, co-wrote, co-produced and I co star in where I play myself and there is a live performance of Lovechild featured in the film as well as the other group I manage, Fly Brown Dragons.

13. RCN: What inspires you to do what you do?

I am inspired by the artists mentioned in question# 3 in addition to many others. Bruce Lee inspires me as does Muhammad Ali. Mel Gibson especially inspires me by having stepped outside the studio system to retain control of his art! Even though I didn't particularly like The Passion. Even somebody like a Jennifer Lopez can inspire me because she's succeeding in Music and Film simultaneously, and is a minority like myself.

14. RCN: What advice would you give to fellow bands?

Advice? Make sure all band members trust and support each other through frequent and honest communication. Don't let all the other idiots get between you. Have each others back like family. Confer amongst each other before you involve girlfriends, A&R, management, lawyers or any fuckin' body. You all united, are the band. Without that trust and honesty, you better do what I'm doing. Write and hire, cuz it's solo time.

15. RCN: What are some of your pet peeves?

Pet peeves: Pre sell. Promoters who don't promote. Promoters who care more about your draw than your songs. No honor amongst musicians today, so you can't even have guys who are in less than four fuckin' bands at the same time. Tribute bands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although I enjoy Metal Skool, it is the death of all original music. Rockers who are so stuck in the past they don't realize that it's the 21st Century! L.A. Rock radio if you aren't punk or alternative you don't even have a forum here. It's Classics or Blink 182 with no middle ground. Unlike rock radio in the rest of the country that actually still plays modern Hard Rock currently. Honoring your side of any deal only to find the promoter, the club and the musicians seldom honoring theirs.

16. RCN: How does music affect you and the world around you?

Music affects the world in all ways. In the beginning was the word. Sound. Vibration. Science and metaphysics are in agreement that everything in existence are only vibrations. Energy vibrating at different speeds, and all in harmony. Percieve the underlying harmony, express it in song, and you can heal the world! Like the Beatles said ŇAll you need is LoveÓ. Music is the food of the Gods. Music tames the savage beast.

17. RCN: What's new in the recording of your music?

Well, Fred Coury from the band Cinderella, said he loved the last show and wants to produce a demo. Plus, since I've been paying for drummers, I'm hoping he'll actually lay down the drums on the thing. We are deciding which songs right now! I have some other brand new songs I have not performed live yet, but they are bigger arrangements and need piano and backup singers. So those will be revealed in the near future.

18. RCN: What are the biggest obstacles for bands?

See # 14 & 15.

19. RCN: What's the best and worst thing about playing clubs?

The worst I've already stated. The best? The 30-45 min. U get to sing perform your original material for an adoring crowd. The audience singing your songs cheering, feeling you and digging it.

20. RCN: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there.

# 8 again: Lovechild is a sexually charged and dynamic show. June
