Rock City News was L.A.'s local rock magazine from 1983 to 2009,
a documentation of L.A.'s rock music scene for 26 years.

Publisher/photographer Ruben MacBlue shot continous live photos
of L.A.'s best bands via Rock City News, LA ROCKS, and SCRATCH Magazine.
Numerous events included "The Rockies," an annual awards show.

An offshoot was the Rock City Railroad, a vintage store and model railroad.
Rock City closed due to copycats, a slowing music scene, and the L.A. Weekly.

Publisher/editor Ruben MacBlue then continued his publishing career with
LA JEMM, (The Los Angeles Journal for Education on Medical Marijuana),
which documented L.A.'s Medical Marijuana explosion,from 2005 - 2014.

JEMM Magazine included Inland Empire's IE JEMM and the Orange County's OC JEMM.
LA JEMM related events were held at the Rock City Railroad compound in Hollywood.
Eventually JEMM Magazine met the same fate as Rock City News and closed.

Ruben then left the cut-throat publishing business and retired,
moving an hour north to the High Desert to save a non-profit called Save-a-LIfe.
Ruben now lives on the Save-a-Life ranch and is organizing 40 years of archives
