. . . Welcome to the San Fernando Valley, the home of thousands of L.A. musicians. We exit the 101 freeway on Vineland, turn right and go to Lankershim, make hard right and go a few blocks to the Blue Saloon. This is one of the only rock club left in North Hollywood since the mysterious disappearance of FM Station. The Blue Saloon is small but cozy and is booked by Gina B Productions, formerly of Bourbon Square and the Troubadour.

Next we could visit hundreds of studios, in North Hollywood, both rehearsal and recording, but only have time for Awesome Audio and Metal Head on Cahuenga, LP Sounds and Silver Cloud on Burbank, Basement Studios or Sound Arena on Varna, Leeds or Yo Studios on Weddington, or 3rd Encore on Vanowen. Another rock club should open in this area soon.

We now go to Aftershock in Studio CIty, but it's mostly a dance club,so we find ourselves heading west down the famous Ventura Blvd. We pass the Baked Potato, a cool jazz supper club, and a lot of restaurants and shops, and pass all the way through Studio City and into Sherman Oaks till we get to Guitar Guitar, Tower Records, and Guitar Center, and other guitar stores nearby.

We then cruise down Van Nuys Blvd to Victory where we stop at McReds, a small club with bands playing nightly. This is where that serial killer "Rogers" found his last victim, (hate to mention that) and then on to Colors and Sounds, the cool headquarters, and then visit the many rooms of Uncle Rehearsal Studios, or another mini-community of Sound Arena, this one by Roscoe and the 405.

Now we'll head into the West Valley, the epicenter of the 1984 Los Angeles earthquake . . .
