MP3 - Music on the Internet
Lesson #1
What is MP3?
The genius behind MP3 is its high compression and high quality capabilities. A 3 minute WAV file would take up almost 30 MB of disk space while the same file recorded in MP3 format takes up only 2 MB.
MP3 is what all those small bands needed to get noticed. On the Internet, there is an equal opportunity for big and small music groups to get their music to the masses. MP3 will turn the music industry in a new direction.
We recommend going to our MP3 Player page and downloading a program to get started. Then search the Internet for MP3 files and start listening to great music. For those that are a little more technical, try one of the CD Rippers and turn your home audio CD's into MP3 format.
