Roads & Sidewalks - Rock City Railroad
Ever since I saw the mini-remote control trucks from Japan, I've built my roads to be used by mini HO scale remote control cars. So they're all connected, and when these become available in the U.S. I'll already have my racetrack ready.

So far, most of the roads are wood, painted grimey black, or else roof tar paper, which is black when you start, but by the time the dust lands on it for a year it becomes gray. I also have some from the train stores that are like tar paper with lines and crossing lines on them.

Recently I tore my layout down and remade a lot of winding roads going from HO level to N level, and from N level to Z level. This added the appearance of distance between the two scales and made the countryside look less like a layer cake.

This is about as far as I've come with roads so far.
