Special Comments: Ocean Park beach, Santa Monica's lifeguard station 26 has volleyball, surfing, bike riding, and is a great spot for sun bathing. Dolphins frequently visit the area. Station 26 attracts surfers and body boarders from around the area. It picks up most swells but is best on a southwest or northwest swell. High tide is always your best bet, otherwise the waves have poor shape for surfing. Surf fisherman catch corvina or perch on a regular basis.There are great grassy areas with picnic tables perfect for family activities. You can rent bikes, roller blades, or body boards at Perry's rental. The beach is long and wide and crowds are large on summer weekends. Find out more about Santa Monica.
