MISS TRESS REVL'ON RED GLAMVESTITE VAMPIREZ REBEL REBEL "GLITTER 'N' GLAM ROCKFEST" at The Coconut Teaszer By Sonja Van Lier When I first arrived at the club MISS TRESS were playing. I saw this band once before and they are actually a pretty good band. Miss Tress is an all female act and they covered Lita Ford's "Kiss Me Deadly," which was the most promising song of the set along with original tunes, but couldn't catch any names since I got there late. Check 'em out! When REVL'ON RED came on, the crowd went crazy! Revl'on Red is one of my favorite bands to see live because they're trying to bring back the rock and roll party, which was dead a couple of years ago. It looks like the scene here in Hollywood is coming back to life! They started their set with "Suicide City" into "The Secret" which is reminiscent of Queeny Blast Pop, this song made the crowd go wild and wanting more. They covered The Ramones' "I Wanna Be Sedated." Next up was my favorite tune "Tonight, Tonight," which really marks the talents of the guitarist Richie Dagger. The band consists of Marky De Sade (vocals), Richie Dagger (guitar), Dougie Sex (bass) and one of the best, hard hitting drummers on the scene, Billy Mayhem!! "Hollywood" was a more harder song with an alternative edge! "Try" was next followed by the newest song "High Class Trash" (this one rocks!). The last song was "Free Your Head." Check 'em out if you haven't yet, you won't be disappointed! The next band I saw was GLAMVESTITE VAMPIREZ (formerly Candy Apple Queenz). This time they're more rebellious with new members Chris Lacey on guitar and Jonny Faverutt on bass and original members Traci Michaels or drums and Brandi Cates on vocals and also featuring Tori on keyboards. Next was REBEL REBEL. They started their set with "Reincarnation" followed by "Living In The City" and "Bodyparts." My favorite song was "U Turn Me On (Like A Radio)." If you like punk you'll love this band. The band is Teddy, Jet, Marcello and Gizmo. See ya in the clubs, stay glam, be cool!
